Welcome to Archetype! This is the personal portfolio site of Janet Montgomery.

I am an individual with many interests and inspirations, each one has acted as a piece of a foundation, a wall, or a decoration of who I am today. I see my innate abilities and work ethic as my foundation, my education and experience as my walls and my inspirations as my decorations.

My inspirations can come from anywhere and at any time - traveling, photography, typography, color, people, cupcakes, free thought, learning, music, structure, psychology, creativity, architecture, technology, nature, philosophy, idea exchanges and other cultures.

My approach to analysis and design endeavors is to bring this multidisciplinary perspective to the table. I find it imperative that a designer or information architect works with with the stakeholders to determine what is the most logical, usable, and effectively designed solution to meet their needs. My job is to understand their needs and translate them into requirements and design, while understanding the limitations of the system and how the various components are architected together. Understanding the "big picture" and finding a creative solution that not only meets requirements but also solves the problem at hand and move the client forward is what a user experience designer and information architect should be doing.
